I know this foundation has been out in the market since forever but as I mentioned before I don’t usually give into hype, I am more of a sure-hit make-up buyer. Why would I gamble my hard earned money to buy expensive make-up to try and there’s no assurance that it’s going to be good. WHY? I try to be a little sensible so I can justify my make-up spending. Plus, I’m a make-up artist and I like using top of the line products on my clients, they are not my guinea pigs whom I’ll try so-so products on.
So I was at Sephora the other day and I saw a friend of a friend who works at NARS so I thought it was the perfect timing to get me some NARS goodies. First thing that I bought was the NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation, obviously I got a little excited about it because I got 3 shades: Stromboli, Syracuse & Barcelona. The shades are all in medium, the reason behind is in my list of clientele, the people who has this skin tone are the ones who need full coverage. I am speaking in a make-up artist’s point of view, this may not be applicable to you but I find this buying strategy effective for me. This foundation is full coverage but it doesn’t feel heavy. What I like most about this product is you don’t need a lot to get the coverage that you want. 2-3 pumps of this product is enough to cover my whole face. If you can see on the photo below, one pump of the product is very little. It is a liquid foundation and the consistency of it is very light and runny. But don’t be fooled! The first time I applied this on my face, I was like- YASSSS, MAMA…COVER THAT! YASSSS…and by the way, I got a little too over excited and pumped a little too much, erm, ’round 5 pumps to begin with? HAH! So I ended up wasting some products because of my over enthusiasm.
I have combination skin so I tend to go oily on my forehead and t-zone after 4 hours. So what I’ve done was I’ve set my foundation with the Ben Nye Banana Powder on the oily parts of my face and not my full face because I still want to retain my natural glow and not look so made up. I was out for 12 hours and my face didn’t feel like it was cursing me because it wants me to remove my make-up. It really is a weightless foundation, it feels like you are just wearing a moisturizer or a bb cream but it’s full coverage. WHAT MORE COULD I ASK FOR?
And I think, the oiliness will show up depending on the type of your skin. Mine started to show after around 6 hours – and by the way, I was out near the beach (but I didn’t swim). It was sunny and a little bit hot so I guess it’s not too bad if the oiliness showed after 6 hours.
VERDICT: 7/10 One of my personal favorites so far. I’ve put it to test on myself and I love it. I can’t wait to try it on my clients!
It’s available in Sephora, the price for this is USD 48 online & AED275 in store.
This little bad boy right here is the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. Everyone is raving about this on youtube, instagram..even my clients & friends. I have to give it a go. I got a shade that complements the foundation shades that I got. The shade that I got doesn’t suit me so I haven’t personally put this one to test but judging from the consistency of the product, it doesn’t feel so heavy but you can see the coverage that it could give.
My personal rating for this product will follow because I haven’t put it to test yet. 🙂
This product is available in Sephora and the price for this is USD 29 online & AED159 in store.
