Product Review: Giella Eye M Glam Mineral Highlighter

I’ve recently joined Giella Custom Blend Cosmetics as their first Brand Ambassador in the UAE. I am thrilled to be part of the Giella family because it’s a brand that I truly believe in. Before I was even approached to become a brand ambassador, Eye M Glam is already my go-to highlighter. As a beauty writer, I promised myself that I will only recommend and promote products that I truly believe in. I don’t see the point of promoting something that you don’t actually like, it just doesn’t make sense to me. Giella products are hand-crafted with ingredients selected to customize the perfect product just for you. Products can be customized for allergies including nut oils and butters. She stands behind her products as being the finest in quality, texture and shade selections. All GIELLA products use the most pure ingredients that can  be found giving their makeup real skincare benefits. Giella is based and manufactured in the US but they deliver internationally and all the products are available online. All Giella products are cruelty free, non-pore …

Brand Experience: THEORY Natural Beauty

It was such an honor to be friends and colleagues with the inspiring woman behind the brand THEORY. Dee is a woman on a mission, her passion for make-up and beauty has driven her brand to a whole new level. When I first met her, we instantly clicked! She was like my long-lost sister! Or the sister I wish I had! When she introduced her products to me, and I can’t believe that this woman created a brand with full range of products from foundations (with variations from organic, professional to custom blend), eyeshadows, blush, lipsticks, lip liner, mascara, brow pens..I could go on an on about it but it’s easy to say that the brand is complete! The brand caters everyone, from everyday women to professional make-up artists. We’ve recently worked together for Runway Dubai 2016 which her brand sponsored. As a make-up artist, I like coming prepared for a job. It was a very different experience for me when we did Runway Dubai, I didn’t bring anything but myself. She provided all the …

Product Review: NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation

I know this foundation has been out in the market since forever but as I mentioned before I don’t usually give into hype, I am more of a sure-hit make-up buyer. Why would I gamble my hard earned money to buy expensive make-up to try and there’s no assurance that it’s going to be good. WHY? I try to be a little sensible so I can justify my make-up spending. Plus, I’m a make-up artist and I like using top of the line products on my clients, they are not my guinea pigs whom I’ll try so-so products on. So I was at Sephora the other day and I saw a friend of a friend who works at NARS so I thought it was the perfect timing to get me some NARS goodies. First thing that I bought was the NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation, obviously I got a little excited about it because I got 3 shades: Stromboli, Syracuse & Barcelona. The shades are all in medium, the reason behind is in my list …

Product Review: Huda Beauty Textured Shadows Palette Rose Gold Edition

Since October is my birthday month, I get to be spoiled a little and one of my birthday presents is The Huda Beauty Textured Shadows Palette in Rose Gold Edition. Yaaassss! I’ve been eyeing on Huda’s products for a long time now, she’s such a business inspiration. From a finance analyst to a make-up mogul, what a transition! Hands down to that, you go girl! I’ve tried some of her lashes and I must say they are amazing! They look gorgeous on my clients with wide & deep set eyes but I don’t like using it for myself since I tend to go natural and man, those lashes are not subtle! I also heard a lot of good reviews on her lip contour. I don’t usually go crazy and line up at Sephora just to get newly launched products. I’m not yet there, but maybe soon? fingers crossed hopefully not. HAH! But I was chuffed that I got this recently launched palette and I got to try it right away so I thought I’d do a …

Product Review: Benjabelle Brush Tree

If you are a make up artist or someone who uses make up brushes a lot, I know that we share the same woes of having to wash and dry our brushes constantly. Cleaning & tidying up my kit is my least favourite part as a make up artist but hygiene is the most important factor involved in your craft. I personally wash my brushes every after use especially if I use my brushes on my clients. Never ever go come to a job with your brushes unclean, you’d look unprofessional and uhm, disgusting. Who wants that? Washing your brushes constantly affects its longevity because the water tends to seep into the stem of your brush. I’ve recently bought a Benjabelle Sunflower Brush Tree, I bought it because it would save me space as I dry my brushes. I usually lay all my brushes flat on a table but it takes a lot of space and you have to roll it over to make sure that all the sides will dry out. Benjabelle brush tree is …

Product Review: Cailyn Dissolv’it & Cleansing Pad

It’s been a while since I have written something…my last laptop died on me, and I just got a new one last week! (yaay! now it’s time to keep this rollin’!) Though it’s been a while since I have written something, in that span of time, I have collected a fair amount of products to review! I’ll start it with one of my favourite brand, for some reason, I really love Cailyn, I have been a fan ever since one of my make-up artist friends recommended some products to me. I only see their products in an annual Beaty Expo here in Dubai which is Beauty World and in one store in Oasis Mall which is Pro Makeup Boutique, then two weeks ago while I was at Outlet Mall, I stumbled upon a kiosk type store that sells Cailyn!!! I can’t believe my eyes and hoarded a couple of products! Two of the things that I bought were Dissolv’it Makeup Melt Cleansing Balm and a hand held Cleansing Pad. These two are the best product …

5 Pre-Make Up Products to Use During Dubai Summer

Summer is fast approaching and if you’re in the middle of the desert with 40 degrees Celsius of heat to beat, here are pre-make up products that I love to use and I find very effective even in the midst of summer. 1. Toner- Tea Tree Water from Lush Cosmetics Every morning, I start my make-up routine by using Tea Tree Water from Lush Cosmetics on my face. I started using this product since last year and since then I have never skipped a day without using it. I have combination skin and I get zits every now and then, using this product doesn’t just refresh me which is a great way to prep up my skin for make-up but it also dries out my pimples.

Salon Review: Baby Blue Salon in Garhoud

I don’t know about you but I find it quite hard to find a salon where I could go back to here in Dubai. Well, it’s going to be a lot easier if  the company you work for includes your monthly salon expenses in your salary package. But for most people like me, it’s quite difficult to find one that has great customer service, could deliver the best services but all in a reasonable price; I could let go of the ambiance of the salon, but customer service and how they deliver their services are very important to me.
